Metal Detecting Old Aboriginal Bush Homesite in Dumbleyung Western Australia

A few years ago when I first took up the “worlds best hobby” of metal detecting I decided to head out to an old native reserve area just out of town to go and test my new metal detector.

Well, I must say that I was pretty bloody happy that I started to find loads and loads of old pre-decimal Australian Pennys, Half Pennys, Six Pence Coins, Florins, Shillings and much more.

This old place was loaded with lost coins.

Whenever I visit this place I always come home with old coins, found with my minelab e-trac, the place never lets me down, although I must say now, the amount of coins I find now, usually are only 2 or 3, but when I fist went out there, I’d be bringing home 10 – 20 coins.

I hope you enjoy the video I made on my last recent visit to the Aboriginal Reserve, it is a beautiful place, very peaceful and full of wildlife, plus heaps of bloody mosquitos!

Old ANZAC Badge Metal Detecting Find

There is nothing better than when your metal detecting and you find something from the War era, whether it be from World War One or World War Two.

The other day I was metal detecting at an old dumping site in the bush only a kilometre away from my hometown in Dumbleyung, Western Australia.

It was an area were me and my mates grew up play in the bush, exploring and just having fun!

Old rubbish dumping sites are always a great place to go metal detecting, because people would accidently throw out coins, jewellery and other relics, and your bound to find things of value and of interest.

This is my second Anzac Badge that I have found with my minelab metal detector
Here is a video I made of me finding a beautiful old anzac badge from the World War 2 Era.

ANZAC means Australian New Zealand Army Corp.

Metal Detecting and Abandoned Austin and Oldsmobile Cars – Part 2

Part 2

I was heading up to the big smoke (Perth) a while ago (Big Smoke means City) and I decided I would just take my time and maybe stop off at a few places along the way to do a bit of metal detecting, bottle hunting and relic hunting.

I knew of an old place which I had been to a couple times before in search of old bottles, so I decided to stop and see what I could find!

Enjoy the video!

Metal Detecting and Catching Tadpoles

A while back I got permission off one of my farmer friends to go and do some metal detecting on their property, which had a beautiful old stone turn of the century Australian Farmhouse on it.

When I arrived I honestly thought that I would have a field day at this place, meaning that I would find plenty of old coins, relics and little treasures.

But I had no real luck, I only managed to find one old australian penny.

But in any case I had a great day and I managed to catch some tadpoles for my tadpole ponds in my yard.

I am a huge fan of frogs and I have quite a few different species on frogs in my garden, some common and some rare!

Besides find the coin, and catching the tadpoles, I also found some nice old bottles, so that topped the day off for me!

1970’s Dragster Bikes For Sale on Ebay

I while back whilst I was on the local rubbish dump looking for scrap metal and throw away treasures, I managed to score this great find, a old kids dragster / chopper bicycle which someone had decided to throw away.

These old bikes are huge collectors items, and I remeber the good old days when I myself had one of these beautiful bikes.

Currently it is sitting in my shed awaiting the time when maybe, just maybe I might find the time to do it up and to restore it.

As I said above, the bikes are great collectors items.

Cashing in on my Scrap Metal to pay my Mortgage!

This video is a few months old, as I have been very slack and unmotivated lately.

Things are very tough for me financially at the moment, so I have to start blogging on my site to try and make some extra money from my websites.

Anyhow here is a video I made a while back and it shows me cashing in on some of my scrap metal I managed to salvage from some friends farms, local rubbish dumps and so forth.

Unfortunately I don’t have the time now to do my scrapping due to my excessive workload in regards to my business.

As I said things are really tough for me, and things are quite dire.
