Sorrento Beach Metal Detecting Finds

Sorrento Beach Metal Detecting Finds

Sorrento Beach Metal Detecting Finds

I was in Perth the other day and decided to hit the beach for a few hours of metal detecting. The night before a big storm front came through so I knew I would have a good chance of finding some jewellery and coins.

I decided to go to Sorrento Beach, because I had been there before doing a search for a guys lost wedding ring, but unfortunately could not find it, so I go back to the beach, hoping I still may find it by some miraculous chance.

Anyhow, I found plenty of coins and a few pieces of jewellery including a small silver toe ring.

There is nothing better than finding a nice gold, platinum or silver ring, or an old coin, or an old piece of jewelry when your out metal detecting on the beach or out bush, you might spend a few hours detecting, and find something that you would really like to share with your friends.

But where do you store all your small metal detecting finds? In a shoe box? Or maybe an old wooden box or even an old ammunition box, or even an Old Treasure Chest

I like to store all my old coins, rings and jewellery which I find on my hunts in a simple “Craftright” Tool Compartment Organiser, which I bought at Bunnings in Perth, I have 4 of them, I think they cost me around $20 each and does the job for me perfectly.

It is nothing fancy, but does the job of a place to store the old pennys and coins and rings I find, and I do have alot of coins which I have found, a couple thousand or two, both pre-decimal and modern day.

I am one of those people who keeps just about everything I find, even modern day currency, maybe one day all the one dollar and two dollar coins I find will buy me a new top of the range Minelab Gold Metal Detector

There are plenty of choices for Coin and Jewellery Storage Boxes at Bunnings or other hardware shops  which you can get for a very cheap price of under $30.

Or if you have a valuable collection, maybe you should invest in a good fireproof safe, I have seen excellent safes where you can get them actually put underneath the floor of your house, hidden under the carpet in a secret location, a great place to store your valuables.

And for the antique and relics you find, the larger items you could always shoe them off to your mates and family by using a nice Glass Display Cabinet similar to the display cabinets you see at antique shops.

Have a look at Bunnings next time your there or any of the many Hardware stores around your local town and find yourself something to store all your Metal Detecting Finds.

Toe Rings and Ring Tips

Swirly Silver Toe Ring - Beach Find

Swirly Silver Toe Ring - Beach Find

I have a nice collection of Toe rings which I have found when metal detecting on the beach. Alot of people who swim just don’t realise when they enter the water that there fingers and toes will shrink in diamater, and especially when you are splashing around, kicking your feet, swimming overarm this action will cause your rings to losen even more. Just a word of advice!

But even though most people realise this, they just think that it will never happen to them, but it will.

The other day I was a Sorrento beach snorkling with my Excalibur II Underwater detector and a lady came up to me and ask if I had found her ring by chance. She lost it a few weeks back swimming.

Anyhow when she asked me I notice that she still had another few nice diamond rings on her fingerand I said to her:

Well you lost your ring swimming, and here you are again swimming and still have your other rings on your fingers

She replied:

Oh well I’ll just take the risk

Pretty damn stupid if you ask me!

Anyhow here are a cople of toe rings I recently found…. I really like the “swirly” ring.

Have You Lost Your Precious Jewellery in Western Australia?

I specialise in helping people find their Lost Treasures, such as rings, watches, bracelets, necklaces etc , many people lose their precious jewellery whilst swimming in rivers, dams, the beach, lakes and also whilst gardening or working out doors.

I was talking to a friend the other day and he referred to the ocean as the worlds biggest Bank.

Everyday millions of pieces of jewellery and coinage are lost out of the pockets of people, valuable rings and bracelets slip off peoples fingers and wrists, beautiful necklaces are washed off people when they dive through waves or maybe like what happened to me once, got dumped by a big wave and I lost my watch!

On a good day last year, I found myself $250 in coins and 11 nice rings on a beach and that was not even during the summer months!

I know of some Western Australian Metal Detecting Treasure Hunters finding rings worth over $50,000 on Perth beaches, a good rumour even has it that on the day of Heath Ledger’s funeral “Surf Wake” at Cottesloe Beach, all of his friends created a circle of Surfboards in the water at Cottesloe Beach, one apparent “movie star” lost a valuable Diamond Encrusted Gold Ring for many many thousands of dollars, and to my knowledge that ring has never been found, and is most likely in the water or laying under the beach sand, waiting for someone to find it.

It is now a few days into the Year 2009 and already I have been busy answering phone calls from people who have lost rings and bracelets most of which have been Christmas Presents which they have lost whilst swimming or sunbathing at the beach.

So if you are anywhere in Western Australia, including Perth and surrounding suburbs and have lost something whether it be swimming, gardening, working, running .. what ever I can help you find your Lost Treasure, examples such as finding your Lost Gold, Silver or Platinum Wedding Rings, lost Bracelets, Necklaces, or any other piece of which may be of great sentimental value to you.

I can help you find anything really, but obviously it has to be metal! I can even help families who may have elderly parents, grand parents, relatives who sadly have Alzheimers Disease which can cause elderly people to do strange things, such as burying their life savings in their back yard…. yes this really does happen.

You’d be amazed on the amount of elderly people who do this or even normal people do it and they die suddenly without retrieving their buried treasure.

So thats another good word of advice, if you are sellling a deceased estate, or moving from your house to a new location it is very wise to get someone like me to do a good metal detecting search of the back yard for any buried treasure, the deceased or partner, or family member may have buried.

I’m sure alot of us have buried our little pieces of treasure before … I certainly did when I was a kid in my backyard … for me it was not really treasure or valuables, but it was Love Letters from an old childhood sweetheart I had.

I am also available to help Police, Crime and Investigation services to find weapons of crime, such as knives, hand guns, rifles, murder weapons and so forth, which may help in the process to quickly solve crimes and catch wanted offenders.

Recovery of your lost jewellery will depend on the following points listed below…

What I need to know:

1. Weather Conditions – especially wind and stormy weather conditions.

2. Water and Tidal Movements

3. Depth of water you lost your jewellery in. I only shallow detect to around 2m

4.  Whether you keep your lost jewellery a secret and not blurt it out to passing or curious people.

5. Do you know the exact or approximate place you lost your Ring or Jewellery piece?

6. The sooner you let me know, the quicker we may be able to find it.

7. There are other things also which I may need to ask you.

Your cost for this service?

My Professional Lost Jewellery Recovery Service is based a “Reward Only Service”  what the item is worth to you and what you would offer as a ”Reward” to have it found.

However I must cover my fuel expense to make it out to you, regardless if its found or not. I will provide a Two Fuel Receipts when I meet you, the first will be from when I left my home, and the second will be when I fill my vehicle up at the search destination.

Depending on the destination I leave from, the cost of my travel could vary, but as an example it could be anywhere between $100 and $150 on average for me to come to you and to return to my destination which is located 300km South East of Perth.

But don’t let that turn you off, I am 3 hours away, and that is not that far … but if your lucky I may already be in the Metro area or where ever you live!

I have decided to start this website so I can catalogue all of my finds on the internet for myself, friends, and visitors to see what I find on my adventures through out parts of Western Australia on my Treasure Hunting trips. I also started this Treasure Hunting site, so I can help others find their precious lost jewellery.
