Busseton Beach Lost Gold Ring Search Unsucessful

Busselton Beach where the Ring was Lost

Busselton Beach where the Ring was Lost

My search for the Lost Ring in Busselton was unsuccesful, I spent 5 hours both in the water and on the beach looking for the ring, I cannot understand why I could not find it, because Boris knew exactly where the ring was lost, the area where the ring was lost in a beach which is very shallow.  You can walk 20 metres into the water and still the water is only up to your waist.

The beach does not have any waves, there is not rocks around the beach, it is just pure white sand.

There are three possibilities about the location of this ring. Firstly someone else has already found the ring, the beach is frequented by quite a few people walking along the beach, people walking dogs and people swimming.

Secondly  Tropical Cyclone Bianca caused very windy weather on the night that Boris lost his ring, so there is a chance that the ring could have been taken into deeper water.

Thirdly, about a metre from where the ring was lost are small wooden pylons (see image to left), there is a good chance that the ring is lodged somewhere on these pylons… mind you I dug alot of sand from around each pylon, hoping I might dig out the ring, but no luck. The reason I dug the sand away was because these pylons have large steel bolts lodged in them, and I could not move my metal detector anywhere near them without getting interferance.

I believe that scenario one and three are likely.

I am so sorry that I could not find this ring, unfortunately not all of my lost ring searches are successful.

Beautiful Gold Ring with Nine Rubies

The other day when I was searching and beach metal detecting for a clients lost Silver St Christophers Pendant, Silver Necklaces And a Silver Ring at Scarborough Beach I found plenty of coins, but also a beautiful Gold and Ruby Ring which must have been lost recently, most likely by a overseas tourist as the Beach is right opposite the 5 Star Observation City Hotel.

Unfortunately I did not find my clients lost jewellery, but was very happy to find this beautiful Gold Ring with Nine Rubies on it.

Happy to reunite this ring with its original owner, but the person must be able to identify some of its unique characteristics.

Metal Detecting Perth’s Swan River

18 CT Ladies Gold and Diamond Ring - Water Find

18 CT Ladies Gold and Diamond Ring - Swan River Metal Detecting Find

Recently I have not had much time to do any metal detecting, as my partner and I have just bought a Post Office and News Agency in my rural town in the Great Southern of Western Australia, Dumbleyung. We have been very busy doing some training courses in Perth.

But last week I found the time whilst I was in Perth to head down to the Swan River for a few hours to do a bit of treasure hunting on the sandy banks of the Swan River.

I decided to find a new metal detecting spot, so I had a look through my Street Directory and I found a nice little spot where there would be a good chance to find some rings, relics  and coins, an area which has been well used by people for the last 100 years or more.

I have uploaded photos of what I found that day and evening, and also before and after photos after I have cleaned my finds, such as the Silver Ring above and below.

The place when I went metal detecting, was Clarkson Reserve on the Maylands Foreshore.

When I was there, I met a curious lady who asked me what I was doing. Her name was Jenny Seaton, a media, radio and television personality who currently has her own program on Curtin FM a radio station broadcasting in the metropolitan area of Perth, Western Australia.

So today she is going to interview me on the radio, so thats a bit exciting and a first for me.

I told Jenny I would post photos of the items I found that night for her listeners to look at.

I found some great items, especially the Ladies 18ct Gold and Diamond Ring, which I found in about 3 foot of water. And also the Mens Silver Wave Ring which was in about the same depth.

So here is what I found on the evening I met Jenny on the Swan.

Wedding Ring Lost at Highspeed!

Tonight I got a phone call from Bricky, who told me he needs my help to search for his wedding ring, which he happened to lose as he hung his arm out of the car passenger window with the car moving at 110 kmph.   Bricky is actually a member of my Beaut Utes Website and he remembered that I help people find Lost Rings and Jewellery with my Perth and Western Australian Metal Detector Service.

I have never done a search for a ring which has been lost from a moving car before, so it is going to be an interesting and exciting  job for me to carry out, but I am feeling pretty confident.

My Candadian Metal Detecting friend Chris Turner who runs Vancouver Metal Detector Rentals has done quite a few jobs of a similar nature, so I have emailed him for some tips.

One tip I remember Chris telling me which I will do is to get Bricky to drive his car past me and the spot where he lost his ring, driving the same speed as when he lost his ring, and then throw out one of my el-cheapo stainless steel rings out of the ring, with some fishing line and a marker attached and see where that ring lands.

That way it could give me a rough idea on where his gold wedding band has landed. I know Chris Turner has done this experiment before and it has proved quite successful.

I’ll keep you all informed on if we have any luck, I hope to do this job within a few days.

Thanks for reading my post!

I love my job!

Amanda’s Lost Rings Found!

Amanda's Lost Silver Black Opal Ring - Found at Hillarys Beach

Amanda's Lost Silver Black Opal Ring - Found at Hillarys Beach

Around two weeks ago I received a frantic phonecall from a girl by the name of Amanda who told me she lost two rings at Hillarys Beach just North of Perth. She asked me if there was any chance I could help her.

I said that by chance I was on my way up to Perth that day for a few days and I would be able to do a search for her.

I know Hillarys Beach pretty well as I had been there previously many times in search for another persons lost wedding ring, but the search for that ring has been fruitless … but I never give up and I always look for it when visiting Perth.

Amanda was pretty upset, because one of the rings was a gift to her Mother from her father, so it carried an enormous amount of sentimental value to her.

She described the place where she thought that she had lost it, and I knew roughly where to search.

around two days later I found the time to head down to Hillarys Beach, and within a few minutes I had found the first ring, a nice silver ring, with what looks to be a black opal or another precious stone inside it. So I was really happy to have found the first ring. And now the search was on for the next ring.

A few days before I went to Hillarys a big storm front came through and the water was washing directly over the spot where Amanda had lost her rings, so I was thinking maybe it had moved away from the spot, or another Metal Detectorist had found it.

She actually lost both her rings next to a wire fence, so I knew that the wire would be interferring with my metal detector, so I decided to get the shovel out and start digging all the top sand away from the fence, and then wave my detecting over the beach sand with I threw in an area behind me, and low and behold, that worked, I waved the detector over, got a nice 12.09 reading with my Minelab E-trac and found it! So I was really happy.

Amanda works away on the mines, she is a geologist, so a couple days later when I got back home, I decided to ring Amanda and tell her the good news.

She was estatic, screaming out with joy and relief! I felt great also, knowing that I am going to reunite Amanda with her lost rings. She has learnt a lesson, don’t wear your rings to the beach, and a few other things that I told her and she told me!

I am meeting up with Amanda this week, to reunite her with her rings, she told me the reward and that made my day, very generous, so thank you Amanda for calling me!

Stephan’s lost Gold Wedding Ring found!

Stephan reunited with his lost Gold Wedding Ring

Stephan reunited with his lost Gold Wedding Ring

The other day I got a phonecall from a German guy living in Perth, his name is Stephan and he told me he lost his gold wedding ring at Point Peron near Rockingham whilst he was fishing at the beach.

He wanted me to do a search of the beach to find his ring, unfortunately I had to say no, because I was just too busy to do the search, but I promised him if he sent me his contact details and number I would find a person who could do the job and find his lost ring possibly.

So he sent me his details via email and I rang up a metal detecting friend by the name of David, who has a Minelab Excalibur, and the next day David arranged to meet Stephan at Point Peron.

David spent around 4 hours trying to search for the ring, but unfortunately had no luck, and both gave in on the search.

Then around 2 weeks later I emailed David again to see if he was going down that way again to do a search again and he said no, but the next day he changed his mind and once again gave Stephan a ring to arrange another search.

David told me the beach and water was littered with junk, such as lead fishing sinkers, copper and brass, aluminum cans, bottle tops and much more.

Then just as he was once again to give up on the search, he found the ring! After two weeks of being in the water with numerous big storms coming through, I was just amazed that David found Stephans ring!

All up David spent 8 hours search for Stephans lost wedding ring.

David received a $550 reward for his efforts in finding Stephans wedding ring, which is fantastic!

It was a miraculous find! And thanks for your dedicated help on this David!

If I can’t do the job, I will find someone who can!

Old Gold Ring – One of My Favourite Finds!

I found this Gold Ring at Scarborough Beach near Perth in Western Australia, it is very old and I just love it, one of my favourite rings I have found so far, because it is the ring is very unusal, its rough and worn, the design is quite unique.

Silver Love Hearts Ring

A while back, whilst Beach Metal Detecting with my Minelab E-Trac Detector, I found a great little spot on the beach where the sand had been washed away, and new that it would be a perfect spot to find some lost treasure!

I actually found alot of treasure, namely gold and silver rings and lots of coins.

Anyhow here is the silver ring I found, a beautiful girls matching hearts silver ring, it was likely given to her by her boyfriend and she lost it swimming.

10 Horseshoes and the Lost $10,000 Ring

If you are a reader of this Metal Detecting Blog, you may remember around a week ago I wrote about 10 Horseshoes and 6 hours later and no $10,000 Ring!

Well in that post I wrote about how I searched for 6 hours on a race horse training track (around 8000 square metres plus) for a girls lost $10,000 engagement ring.

The first search was very difficult, very tiring and most of all very frustrating, because the search area was massive and in my opinion I would have had more success on finding a needle in a haystack!

The track was boggy, around 50cm deep with thick beach type sand, and the sand was quite mineralised which would give off fake readings and I had no success finding the lost ring.

A few days ago I drove 250kms to the place again to do another search, once again confident I would find the ring. Again I searched for hours, around 3 hours this time, I met the girl again and I asked her to show me where she walked, rode and where she believed she had lost her ring.

Anyhow to cut a long story short, like I said 3 tiring hours later, I was searching for the ring, digging up nails, and horseshoes when her fiance came up to me and said …

Stop Search, your not going to believe it, I found the ring just then on the porch when I was sweeping!

I was struck for words, a little peed off, but glad the ring was found.

This story is a prime example of if you would like to book me for a search, that you need to be certain exactly where you lost your jewellery.

All up I drove 1000kms from my hometown to search for this ring, only for it to be found right outside their doorway.

I am glad Tara found her ring, and I appreciate the fuel fee I was given.

Frustation is one of the things that comes with my job! But nethertheless it is something I like to avoid.

Gold Ring Found Scarborough – Engraved Gary

Garys' Lost Gold Ring - Found Scarborough Beach
Garys’ Lost Gold Ring – Found Scarborough Beach

Hey Gary, I found your ring!

I found this ring a while back just before Summer started when I was testing out my new E-Trac Minelab Metal Detector at Scarborough Beach in Western Australia.
I don’t think the ring was in the water for that long, because there was not any grit stuck to the ring, but I would most likely it was in the water for about a year.
Its a nice ring, around 9 Carats, who ever Gary is, he must have thought that it was lost forever, maybe he will see this post, if you do Gary, I have your ring, but if you want it back, you will need to prove to me that it is yours mate.
Cheers
