My Childhood School Memories of the Dumbleyung Primary School – Hopscotch – Ringing the School Bell!
My Beautiful 1900’s + Antique and Vintage Era Marbles – Dump & Digging Finds – Part 1
Music by my Beautiful friend and ex lover Polly and I am also dedicating this to Polly and also a little girl named Sophie …
Polly is currently awaiting a Double Breast Mastectomy due to having the BRCA1 Breast Cancer Gene which results in the carrier having an extremely high chance of getting Breast and Ovarian Cancer.
Polly’s chances are so high, that she has decided to undergo a Double Mastectomy so she does not get Breast Cancer, the same disease which has killed of her Aunts, through her family tree.
Polly is only 43, unfortunately her much younger sister who is in her mid 30’s is currently undergoing Chemotherapy and Radiation Treatment due to having been recently being diagnosed as having Breast Cancer due once again to having inherited the BRCA1 Gene.
More info on the BRCA1 Gene here:
In the video there is a photo of a tree, this is the tree that as a child, my mates and I used to play Marbles under in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s… unfortunately no kids these days play the beautiful game of Marbles and would rather waste their days away, texting, playing xbox, living in front of computers and so many more wasteful ways… not all kids, but most kids.
In regards to the tree, well I am unsure if it is 100 years old or 500 years old or maybe even 1000 years old , these trees grow native in my area,… so it could have been there prior to the school being built….. to be honest I would say this tree was not planted there… it may well have already been there prior to the school being built, so it could easily be 500 years old.
The reason also being is that the school location would have been chosen by the old surveyors …, just for that tree, due to the beautiful shade and relief from the sun on hot summers days for the kids,
the same would go for local Noonga Aboriginals who would have gathered at this tree prior to any contact with European & White Contact
Just let everyone know that the photos of the marbles are from my hunts around the Great Southern area of W.A. and none of these marbles come from that tree… I would never touch that tree as it holds the memories of many many kids and maybe hundres of years worth of memories…. the tree is too special and actually it should be heritage listed … so now you can see how important that tree is.
